Luke's Screwed.

Literally. Luke has a screw in his elbow. Like, I've known Luke has had a screw in his elbow since his surgery two weeks ago. But on Tuesday it got real. We went to Sanford's Orthopedic clinic for his first of (hopefully just) two post-op follow up appointments. It was quite the day.

He finally got out of his cast, which he was very pleased about. I took a boomerang (and then, quick soapbox, converted it to a gif because stupid Wix doesn't allow for mp4 files to be uploaded into a blog without first being uploaded to Youtube) so that it would be documented forever:

Then he went and got x-rays while I sat in the room with the smelly splint.

When he came back, they showed us this:

On the left, you can see the very, very large screw that is holding his arm together (On the right, you can see the x-ray from the night he fell. The dark line running diagonally through his elbow, or olecranon, is the fracture. I will never get tired of saying that he literally fractured his elbow off. In the words of my genius sister: "that's gnarly!")

So, Luke's screwed.

Although, he's pretty happy about it because his new splint (pictured below) is much more comfortable than the last one (and he can take it off to shower!! Velcro is a magical, magical thing):
